Workplace hospitality platform welcomes former Starwood Hotels VP to leadership team
April 17, 2017, NEW YORK – Convene, a workplace hospitality platform that operates a network of full-service meeting and event venues, announced that it has appointed veteran hospitality industry leader Brian McGuire as the company’s first-ever Chief Operating Officer (COO). As COO, Mr. McGuire will be responsible for driving Convene’s North American expansion, as well as leading the company’s service, culinary, and technology operations.
Mr. McGuire has 16 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He most recently served as the Vice President of Operations of Starwood Hotels, responsible for opening all new hotels across North America, both franchises and managed. Under his leadership, Mr. McGuire’s team opened 47 hotels in the past year. He also led program development and training for operations support teams, worked with brand teams to develop and launch guest-facing programs, and ran Six Sigma, Starwood’s process improvement and innovation platform.
