Convene turned 10 years old last week. As I reflect back on this past decade there are too many stories to tell and to much gratitude to put into words.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed their time, talent and trust into building Convene into the promising company that it is today. And a special thank you to all of our early team members and believers who helped us when we needed your support the most—I wish you could fully account for all of the lives you’ve touched.
Ryan and I had breakfast with our most-tenured employees last week where we swapped war stories and reflections from the past 10 years.
There were two common threads that tied all of our experiences together:
Our most challenging days were our greatest memories. Nobody talked about the measures of success that the outside world focuses on like capital raises, valuation or number of properties under management. We talked about the hard days when we supported each other and learned the most.
Our proudest accomplishments were the relationships we’ve built, the challenges we’ve tackled together, the opportunities we’ve created for each other and the reputation that we’ve earned together.
I’m proud of how far we’ve come, optimistic about where we’re going and humbled to have so many incredible, talented people committed to carrying us forward for the next 10 years and beyond.
The future will always be bright so long as we keep striving to be one percent better everyday and continue playing offense and defense on culture.
