CURRENT SAKSWORKS MEMBER FAQs

1. What is happening with SaksWorks and Convene?

You can read about HBC’s recent investment in Convene and our plan to unite SaksWorks and Convene in our press release or in the Wall Street Journal. We are excited about this new chapter!

2. Who is Convene?

Convene is a leading hospitality company and provider of beautifully designed and tech-enabled meeting, event, and office locations. Their network includes 23 locations across NYC, Chicago, Boston, Washington, DC, Philadelphia and London. You can learn more about Convene here.

3. What is happening to my existing membership to SaksWorks?

All existing memberships with SaksWorks remain unchanged today. Please continue to utilize your SaksWorks membership as you always have! As SaksWorks and Convene work through details, a team member will be in touch with any changes and/or action required.

4. What is going to happen to the SaksWorks name?

Through the combination of SaksWorks and Convene, Convene’s management team will take over operations of existing SaksWorks. We expect to rebrand to Convene over time, and leverage our collective expertise in elevating the modern meeting and workday experience.

5. As a current SaksWorks member, when can I expect more information about what’s changing for me?

SaksWorks members can expect to receive more information about changing membership offerings to Convene within the next month.

6. How long will the transition period be? 

We anticipate that the transition period will run between now and early summer. 

7. Will WeWork no longer be operating SaksWorks?

WeWork will operate SaksWorks throughout the transition period. SaksWorks members will be notified of any upcoming changes in operation and/or management.

8. Why will WeWork no longer be operating SaksWorks?

SaksWorks has enjoyed its operating partnership with WeWork and will work with the team to ensure a smooth transition for our members. In partnership with Convene, we look forward to expanding our membership services and offerings.

9. What is going to happen to the staff at SaksWorks?

Convene has been recognized for six years as a “Best Places to Work” and an employer of choice, and we are excited that many of our team members will join the Convene team as part of this transition.

10. What is happening with reciprocity between SaksWorks and WeWork?

During the transition period, your membership will remain unchanged. Over the next month, we will be in touch with membership changes and enhancements available to you.

11. I only bought my membership because of ________, can you please refund me?

We hope you’ve enjoyed your membership with SaksWorks thus far. We have some exciting enhancements to membership coming your way as we transition into our new chapter with Convene, and look forward to sharing those options in the next month. We’d love for you to stay aboard with us to find out more, and as always, we welcome feedback and suggestions. Unfortunately, we are not able to refund any months of membership that have already been used. 12. How will my experience at SaksWorks be impacted? Will I still be able to book a desk or room, register a guest, or print on the app during this time?

Nothing is changing today, but we will be in touch with membership changes soon as part of the transition period.

13. How will I get billed for my membership?

14. I just signed up for an annual membership, what is going to happen with it?

We hope you have enjoyed your membership with SaksWorks thus far. Please note that during this transition period, your membership remains unchanged. We have some exciting enhancements to membership coming your way and look forward to sharing those options in the next month! We appreciate your patience as we work through these details. 15. I just bought a SaksWorks candle / tote bag / notebook / hoodie, can I return it for a full refund?

If unused, we will be happy to take it back for a refund. Please reach out to saksworks@convene.com

16. Will you still be offering programming to existing SaksWorks members?

A variety of the existing program offerings will continue throughout this transition period. We are excited to enhance these offerings through our partnership with Convene this summer. 

17. Will the WeWork app continue to work?

Nothing is changing today, but we will be in touch with membership changes soon as part of the transition period.

18. Will I still be able to manage my membership through account central?

Nothing is changing today, but we will be in touch with membership changes soon as part of the transition period.

19. What will happen with my credits (both room and printing)?

Nothing is changing today, but we will be in touch with membership changes soon as part of the transition period.

20. Will SaksWorks locations be undergoing construction as a result of this deal?

The SaksWorks Flagship location will undergo planned renovations. SaksWorks Flagship members will receive complimentary access to Convene’s Flagship location in return.

21. I signed up for an annual membership and just passed up the opportunity to get office space elsewhere. How will you compensate me for the inconvenience?

We hope you have enjoyed your membership with SaksWorks thus far. Please note that during this transition period, your membership remains unchanged. We have some exciting enhancements to membership coming your way and look forward to sharing those options in the next month – including the opportunity to transfer your membership to a premium Convene WorkPlace location. 22. I joined one of SaksWorks’ existing locations as a placeholder for the coming soon locations (ex: Manhasset and Scarsdale) but now those won’t be opening. Will you refund me?

We hope you’ve enjoyed utilizing our SaksWorks space since joining. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer a refund for your membership used during that time. If you wish to discuss options for continuing to use other SaksWorks (and soon, Convene) spaces, we would be happy to discuss. Please reach out to saksworks@convene.com.

23. Does Convene have a partnership with WeWork?

Convene does not have a partnership with WeWork, but will be working closely with the teams in place at SaksWorks locations to ensure a smooth transition for SaksWorks members.

24. Can I work out of any of the 23 Convene locations?

At this time, SaksWorks membership access is available at your home location. If you are interested in accessing select Convene locations in addition to your home location, please contact saksworks@convene.com.

25. Is my day pass still valid?

SaksWorks day passes will remain valid throughout the transition period at the SaksWorks locations. 

26. Is the SaksWorks referral program still active?

The SaksWorks referral program is not currently active. A new referral program will be launched in the coming months and we will be in touch with the details at that time.

27. Will I still receive a Saks 5th Ave gift card for signing up for an annual SaksWorks membership?

Unfortunately, this benefit will no longer be offered.

2. Who is SaksWorks?

SaksWorks is a membership club for life and work, with 3 locations currently open in NYC and Greenwich, CT. 

3. What is changing for Convene WorkPlace Members based on this announcement? 

You can read about HBC’s recent investment in Convene and our plan to consolidate SaksWorks under Convene in our press release or in the Wall Street Journal. We are excited about the future growth opportunities this investment provides Convene. For now, your Convene membership remains 100% unchanged.

4. Is Convene rebranding? Is anything changing at Convene’s existing locations? 

Convene is not rebranding and nothing is changing at our existing 23 locations. Later this year, we will take over operations at the three existing SaksWorks locations. We expect those locations, as well as future SaksWorks locations, to all rebrand to Convene over time.

5. Does this mean I now have access to SaksWorks locations?

As of today, the teams are still working out membership logistics between the two companies. During this time, Convene WorkPlace membership access remains unchanged. We will be in touch with any changes as they arise! 

6. Does this change my WorkPlace contract in any way?

Convene contracts remain unchanged during this time. We will be in touch with any available upgrades!

7. How will this impact my existing meetings contract with Convene? Can I still work with my existing contact to book future meetings?

Convene contracts remain unchanged during this time. Yes, you can still work with your existing contact to book meetings.

8. Can I book a meeting at these locations?

As of today, the teams are still working out membership logistics between the two companies. During this time, Convene access remains unchanged. We are happy to put you in touch with the appropriate contact to discuss meetings options at one of our several current Convene locations!

9. Can I use my credits at these locations?

Currently, Convene credits may only be used at Convene locations. 

10. What other markets/locations are you opening?

Our footprint will expand to include more locations in major urban and suburban markets across the U.S., Canada and Europe. We will be in touch when new openings in the future.

11. Will Convene exclusively work with HBC moving forward or still consider relationships with other Landlords? 

We will continue to expand our footprint globally by partnering with progressive Landlords to build new flagship locations in key markets. We will also continue to support Landlords with their flex space needs through our managed services business.

12. Do these new members have to complete the Eden process for vaccinations?

Today, SaksWorks members remain stationed at their current locations. Should a transition take place in the future, all new members of Convene WorkPlace will be required to adhere to Convene WorkPlace policies. 

13. Will an increase in members hinder our room booking ability and ticket turnaround times?

Convene prides itself on a seamless WorkPlace experience. As we expand our footprint, we look forward to welcoming additional team members as well to uphold our service standards.
