The location

Convene 1201 Wilson Boulevard is located in Arlington, Virginia, part of the bustling Washington metropolitan area. Our meeting and event spaces take up the entire 29th and 30th floors of the area’s tallest building, in the heart of the urban Rosslyn neighborhood.

Just across the street from the Rosslyn metro station and within walking distance of multiple parking garages, the 34,000 square-foot space is easy to access from downtown D.C. or the suburbs.

Given its height, this property is known for having the area’s best view of the National Mall. Floor-to-ceiling windows around the entire perimeter of both floors allow that, and the other epic views, including the Potomac River and the famous seasonal cherry blossom bloom, to take center stage every day. The windows also let in an abundance of natural light that floods the industrial, modern venue to provide a welcoming and inspiring environment. 

“Seeing the sun rise over D.C. every morning never gets old,” says 1201 Wilson’s General Manager Scott Slater. “The best view is on the 30th floor in the welcome area. You can see the whole city and nearly every point of interest. This is also perfect for evening receptions.”

The space

Since opening in 2018, this Convene location has been solely dedicated to hosting unforgettable meetings and events, from hackathons to corporate retreats to receptions featuring various vendors and even parties with a dance floor and a DJ spinning tunes. The site is highly customizable, capable of hosting full buyouts with multiple breakout sessions seamlessly and without interference, thanks to the variety of unique spaces with soundproof airwalls and state-of-the-art technology. 

The largest room on the premises is the Arlington Forum, which can host up to 242 guests. The flexible Observation Hub offers the most stunning views and can fit 192 people total, or be divided into two separate rooms.

The other various gallery spaces and rooms throughout the property are the perfect setting for breakouts, working sessions, receptions, and more. 

“The space is used best when it's a full space buyout,” says Slater. “We’ve seen some great meetings take place using the forum as the main plenary session and other areas for multiple break-out meetings.”

The design

By design, Convene 1201 Wilson Boulevard is one of the most minimalist spaces in our portfolio. The open and airy layout puts all the focus on the breathtaking views and natural light coming in from the windows.

The design also reflects the property’s location within the building itself, with sleek accents and subtle artwork that reflect being in the sky. Lighting fixtures on the ceilings simulate airplane propellers, while feather artwork adorns the walls.

A striking, centrally located staircase enveloped in an art installation by D.C.-area native Rachel Mica Weiss connects the two floors, allowing for an easy flow during a full buyout or any time. 

“I love to see my clients utilize every square inch of the space,” says Nichole McBride, our on-site Event Production Manager. “Seeing dressed-up reception stations, game vendors, and even a sommelier on the floor is when I think 1201 shines the brightest.”

The property is equipped with all of the amenities you need to host a flawless event, but also boasts that extra-special something that will have guests talking for weeks to come. 

“The clients and attendees love standing by the windows and pointing out national landmarks,” says McBride. And she doesn’t blame them: “There are still days when the view takes my breath away.”
