Since Convene’s founding in New York City in 2009, the Bay Area was consistently among the top requested expansion markets by existing clientele. A major economic hub in the United States, many of the largest and most influential companies in the world have a presence in the metro.
In November 2023, Convene opened its first meeting and event venue in San Francisco, Convene 100 Stockton. One year since opening our doors, we are reflecting back on our first year of business in this incredible city.

A Prime Location for Gathering in the Heart of San Francisco
Convene 100 Stockton is located in the heart of Union Square, and is part of the redevelopment of a former Macy’s Men’s department store. The meeting and event space operated by Convene spans 53,000 square-feet; there is a dedicated Convene lobby on the ground floor providing guests with exclusive elevator access to our premium venue space located on floors four and five. The largest meeting room can accommodate just under 470 individuals and a full buyout of the space affords a total capacity of approximately 1,000 guests.
Convene 100 Stockton comprises seven unique meeting rooms - each of which can be configured (and some even combined!) to accommodate various event types from company town halls to classroom-style learning, corporate social events, and more - as well as two bonus rooms, including a green room for speakers and a team room for meeting planners. Convene also thoughtfully integrates technology into its meeting spaces, providing built-in video cameras, microphones, speakers, and video screens, allowing clients to seamlessly extend the event to virtual participants.
Unique Design Elements Honoring the Surrounding Neighborhood
Every Convene space is uniquely designed, paying homage to its respective neighborhood. At Convene 100 Stockton, the design team wanted to celebrate “Karl, the Fog,” San Francisco’s illustrious weather phenomenon - the ethereal statement light fixture and reflective art and decor throughout the space are subtle nods to this iconic character of the city. The design narrative for the space is also reminiscent of the surrounding landmarked architecture and coastal contemporary residences with elements including dramatic stonework, warm woods, and bold sunset colors of varying opacity.
“We are so intentional about our space narratives, we look at the architecture of the neighborhood, an experiential component, and a cultural component, where we dive into the fun aspects of the city we are in to bring the local flavor,” says Katie Timmerman, vice president of design at Convene.
A Year of Inspiring Meetings and Events
Ryan Simonetti, Convene CEO and co-founder, had an ambition and a wish when Convene opened in San Francisco one year ago. “We want to be a place for companies and organizations to come together to create, collaborate, and inspire,” he said.
We’ve done just that. Since officially opening our doors in November 2023, Convene has hosted over 120 meetings and events (and counting!) while building incredible relationships and partnerships with local organizations such as the Union Square Alliance, the Northern California Chapters of Meeting Professionals International, and the International Live Events Association.
