InfoComm 2025: Our AV Experts Reflect on Event Technology
Posted June 18, 2025 By Katherine PeachInfoComm 2025 presented an invaluable opportunity for Convene’s technology team to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving world of event technology. Held in Orlando, Florida, the conference is targeted at professionals in event planning and the audio-visual systems industry, focusing on optimizing meetings and events, enhancing collaboration, and creating impactful presentations, gatherings, and immersive experiences. A few of Convene’s experienced technology leaders took time to reflect on key takeaways from one of the largest technology events of the year.

Advancing technology for greater access

InfoComm was a celebration of how audio-visual technology merges creative innovation with practical implementation. The industry is shifting from purely functional systems to story-driven, immersive event experiences that engage audiences and elevate brands. From dynamic LEDs and responsive audio to intelligent automation, AV is becoming a tool for connection, not just communication.
At the heart of this evolution is the integration of experience design into everyday operations. InfoComm showcased how professionals can blend creativity with consistency, transforming meeting rooms and event venues into multisensory environments while maintaining efficiency and reliability. Whether it is intuitive control systems or interactive content, the message is clear: innovation does not have to sacrifice functionality.
What is most exciting is how accessible these tools have become. Modern AV production offers more scalable, flexible options than ever before, thanks to intuitive systems and rapidly advancing technology. Technology like LED panels and displays is more accessible thanks to an increase in competition, more refined production processes, and increasing alternatives to expensive components in LED lighting. Once limited in form and function, LED video walls have evolved dramatically — now available in transparent, ultra-light, and even bendable configurations that reduce load-in times and unlock new creative possibilities.
InfoComm 2025 makes one thing clear: cutting-edge AV is on the precipice of being widely accepted for all types of meetings and events. We had the opportunity to explore innovations from companies like Liantronics, which designs panels with optical surface coatings for enhanced scratch resistance and optimized heat distribution to lower power consumption and extend operational life. These durable and energy-efficient video displays also feature ultra-slim, lightweight frames that make installations faster and less labor-intensive. It is a powerful, scalable toolkit for creative storytelling across industries, spaces, and budgets.

AI meets human-centered design
Alexandra Berch, senior sales executive AV solutions
I went into InfoComm looking to better understand how AI is impacting AV workflows and equipment development, and more generally, how we can best show up for ourselves and our clients. I left with a sense of hope and excitement for the direction this industry is heading. Across the conference, advanced LED displays and auto-tracking cameras were able to enhance dynamic content and refine visual delivery, directly supporting the current shift into an experience economy and underscoring the critical role of advanced AV and expert technical support. The professional AV industry is undergoing a profound transformation, driven by rapid hardware advancements and a focus on human-centered design that empowers customer experiences.
Exhibitors Q-Sys and Neat highlighted customized journeys underpinned by AI streamlining workflows. For example, Q-Sys showcased both its hardware and software solutions through an escape room demo where we worked as teams to solve the puzzles. Our progress was monitored by the same Q-Sys AV systems that our technology team might employ to oversee our Workplace product if implemented. Another company, Neat, installed a full boardroom setup with its new video conferencing product called Neat Center, showcasing not only the impressive capabilities of the hardware but also a great example of platform agnosticism. The company emphasizes how this AV tool, equipped with AI capabilities such as auto-focusing, can work with any major video conferencing software on the market. When it comes to AI within the AV industry, it was a relief to see that AI is being leveraged to make integrators, technicians, and end-users' lives easier.
Beyond the tech, my takeaway was the remarkable hospitality that AV professionals extend to each other. Convene is a hospitality-first company, and these are truly some of the most passionate and expert professionals I've had the pleasure to work alongside. I was especially impressed with the presentation of the Modulo Pi media server from MayCo + the Modulo Pi team, and the new L38 loudspeaker from 1 Sound. It was so clear that these products were made with not just expertise, but love for this industry.
Despite natural competition, there's a strong, shared belief in selecting the right technology and project management partners for the job. This collaborative spirit, especially vital during transformational times we are currently experiencing, ensures the best outcomes for clients and drives success across the entire industry.
Delivering technology for the AV pros

Attending InfoComm 2025 was more than just a chance to explore the latest in AV—it was a reminder of how fast our industry is evolving. I was on the lookout for technology to elevate our meeting and event experiences, and one standout for me was the leap in LED wall tech. Large-format displays are reaching new heights in both image quality and versatility. We’re seeing crisper resolution, more modular setups, and streamlined control systems that are finally bridging the gap between aesthetics and practicality.
I saw some truly creative designs, like a massive 138-inch LED screen that folds in half and rolls through a standard doorway for easy transport and an “all-in-one” LED display that came pre-configured for quick, two-person installation. From curved, ultra-thin video walls built for immersive spaces to portable LED setups you can deploy in minutes, the future of experiential events has a clear ‘leader of the pack.’
Beyond the flashy booths and tech demos, InfoComm was also about relationships. Seeing how vendors framed their value, where they began their narrative, and how they tailored messaging in real-time gave me a lot to reflect on. It was a subtle but firm reminder of something that gets lost in the pace of day-to-day operations: the importance of interpersonal connection in business. Whether it was during happy hour, over dinner, or in a quick hallway chat, real conversations still move the needle. Conferences like this aren’t just about the tech—it’s about who’s alongside building it.
In conversation after conversation, I noticed a refreshing trend: many of our tech partners are keen to work with Convene not just as technology vendors, but as clients. A few mentioned they’d love to host their own team meetings or training sessions in a Convene venue, or even rent a workspace at one of our locations. Hearing an AV company say, “We want to experience Convene for our next event,” was incredibly validating. It shows just how well-regarded our venues are when partners themselves want to step into our spaces and truly feel the hospitality that we provide to all.
I left Orlando not only inspired by new technology, but also proud of the stronger bonds we forged with our industry partners along the way.
